Alex Ahrendtsen, a candidate for the Danish parliament for Dansk Folkeparty in Fyn lies and put a xenophobia note in his campaign video.

It was like a scary movie when Alex Ahrendtsen, parliament candidate for DF Fyn open his door and stand before a Polish robber holding a long knife that tries to get into the house.

The message in the 30-second campaign video is that one should vote for Alex Ahrendtsen personally and support Dansk Folkeparti’s wish to get border control back if one wants to stop the home robbery.

However, that is just the problem.

” It is a myth that ciminals from the previously Eastern countries are behind those home robberies in Denmark. Analysis printed by Jyllands Posten showed that there has been 30 robberies with 50 convicted in the periode of 16 months up to August 1, 2009. Only ONE of the 50 convicted is Eastern European. The man who came from the former part of Jugoslavia was one of the six foreigners who were convicted. Other 44 convicted were Danish citizens.

In a closer look, all men, mostly between 15-25 years old, four out of five have a long criminal history and in two out of 3 robberies the victims were usually exposed to physical violence. – The image of a hoarde of organized, Eastern European criminals come to Denmark and start robbing houses is created by the media”, Kim Kliver, leader for the National Police Investigation center said to Jyllands Posten

Source Berlingske Tidende, January 2010

Most home robberies in 2009 were conducted by Danish citizens and not foreigners from the Eastern Europe.

There is no news whether Dansk Folkeparti’s parliament candidate from Fyn would replace his campaign video with one that is more realisitc where the Polish-speaking robber replaced with a Danish-speaking one.

Alex Ahrendtsen is not the only one from Dansk Folkeparti that tries to raise the home-robbery subject to promote Dansk Folkeparti’s wish to get the border control back. Dansk Folkeparti members met last weekend in a old border control station by the Germany-Denmark border and send out message that border control would brake criminals from the Eastern Europe. The unused station is owned by Dansk Folkeparti and now used as a museum
