Nadir got beaten up in a pub, but got himself arrested when he called the police.

A pool of blood was seen in Nadir’s right eye and bruises on his arm he used to defend himself from the blows and the beatings he received Friday night in a pub in Aaarhus. But it was the 30-year old carpenter, not the attackers who ended up sitting in jail.

Nadir had no idea about the pub where he ordered a beer that night that it was a hangout place for hooligan group White Pride. A group that apart from being AGF fans, is a high extremist group and has been accused to be behind of many crimes toward other fans faction, foreigners and left-oriented people.

At the moment Nadir is sitting in his apartment in Aarhus central, tired and shock after the night’s episode that ended up with him spending the night in detention. Although he was the victim, he was the one who was arrested by the police. He was released Saturday morning with a hefty fine for disturbing public order.

Meeting place for White Pride members

-  I was calling for help but they threw me in jail instead, Nadir said with a thick Aarhusian accent and dumfounded expression. He did not want to give his last name to protect his family.

Nadir was in a party mood when he and his old friend stepped into the pub “Den Gamle Høker” in Jægergårdsgade. The street is famous for its small pubs where one can smoke and drink cheap beers that attract different kind of people.

Nadir and his friend had no idea that “Høkeren” is a meeting place for White Pride people.

- What kind of Nazi bar this is?

He tried to order a beer but a bar guest told him that “We don’t serve Muhammedans here”.

- I replied: Shut up you farmer – I don’t want to hear that. But the bartender said the same, so I said: What kind of Nazi bar this is? and then it went chaos from there.

According to Nadir, he and his friend were attacked by 15-20 bar guests. Nadir was pulled in the hair and kicked on the head and thrown out of the bar while his friend received more beatings.

The police came

Nadir called the police in panic and a police car showed up not long after. However, they thought it was Nadir and the friend who made problems as the bar guests explained

- But it was me who called you, said Nadir to the police. He wanted to light up a cigarette but the police asked him to stop. Nadir explained that he needed to smoke to calm his nerves after the unpleasant experience.

You are arrested

- That’s it. It’s 00.300 and you are arrested, the police responded according to Nadir. He had to spend the night at the police station where he had to go through embarrassing visitation to prove that he did not carry any drugs.

He made sure that he was calm and not to provoke the policemen.

- Why should I get infuriated? I thought they came to help me. I don’t understand a thing. It’s me who has to explain although it’s me who got beaten up. My friend is (white) Danish and I was born in Denmark and speak fluent Danish. We are not bunch of punks that went out just to get in trouble

East Jutland police did not want to make comments on the case yesterday because the spokesman was on vacation.

You could get hit on the head

At the pub, there was not much explanation to get either.

- Nothing happened, according to a man with short hair with red Prince (cigarette) and a beer in front of him when B.T. asked if anybody saw what happened the night before.

- It’s a risk you meet when you go to a pub, you could get hit in the head and that’s my honest opinion, another female bar guest said.
